A Breath of Fresh Air
Published: April 16, 2013

At the end of December, we pushed the Advertiser Platform live on tagvillage along with many updates to the Publisher Platform. These enhancements included upgraded features and code for publishers, live bidding by advertisers, and the ability for our site to display ads for winning bidders. We announced the enhancements to the members by posting updates in the Dashboards. Then, we waited for feedback and testing data.

By March, we were feeling very good. From the end of December until the beginning of March, there had been zero bugs reported by advertisers or publishers and zero exception logs on our ...

Launch Preparation Updates
Published: Feb. 4, 2013

We are really getting excited here at corporate headquarters as we look toward our launch on April 1st, 2013. Things have improved dramatically in many areas. Our finances are much better than before. Development is moving along at a very nice pace. Theft and fraud are completely under control. Relationships with our payment processors are stronger than ever before. Membership is growing steadily, and we are confident a few advertiser and publisher networks will be joining our system in time for the launch.

Our goal is to be as transparent and honest as possible with our members in every way ...

Back in Time
Published: Jan. 9, 2013

I have 2 teenage children that have graduated from High School and gone off to college over the past 2 years. I see them struggling to become independent. I watch them making choices they don’t realize will affect their entire lives. And, I cringe when I learn of mistakes they make along the way. Recently, a conversation with my son began with “If I was 18 again, I would…”

As the years have passed in my life, one thing is for certain. Hind-sight is definitely 20/20. How often do we look back and know, without a shadow of ...

Launching the Ad Platform
Published: Dec. 12, 2012

Exciting times are just ahead for all of us here at tagvillage. On Monday, December 17, 2012, we fully intend to launch the basic, core package of our Advertising Platform. While this long-awaited event signals the end of a tiresome pre-launch development journey, it also signals the beginning of a much longer and more difficult one. Once the core platform is live, we will immediately shift into simultaneous stages of support, product enhancement, platform growth, and marketing. Of utmost importance is that our members maintain the proper expectations.

If all goes according to plan, as of December 17, advertisers will ...

Accounts & Fraud Issues
Published: Dec. 10, 2012

If you have been keeping up with tagvillage over the past several weeks, you know we have been dealing with intense trouble related to payment fraud and other security issues in what we now define as Banned Countries and Restricted Countries. Since this matter is of very urgent importance to many members, we will address it first in this update. As of December 1, 2012, we have agreed to enforce a few new policies regarding accounts, payments in, and withdrawals from tagvillage.

NO ACCOUNT REGISTRATION IN BANNED COUNTRIES

If a person resides in or is a citizen of a Banned ...

Serious About Traffic
Published: Nov. 29, 2012

If you have been a member of tagvillage for more than a week, then we are sure you have noticed quite a bit of change around here lately. In anticipation of the upcoming advertising platform, we have been rapidly shifting from a development stage business to a marketing stage business. To quote our own CEO, “it is time to get serious about traffic”.

Since our inception in 2010, we have intentionally tried to stay “below the radar” with respect to search engines and other online promotion. This may seem quite odd, but it was part of a well-orchestrated strategy. We ...

The Plague
Published: Nov. 20, 2012

Over the past two years we have fought hard to resolve a major issue afflicting tagvillage. This issue has cost our company incredible amounts of money and countless hours of development time. As a matter of fact, if it were not for this particular issue, we would have launched the advertising platform several months ago and our members would already be enjoying their growing advertising commissions.

Nearly every month, our company comes under review from PayPal or MasterCard or Visa or other financial institutions. We have to defend our legitimacy as a business and rebuild our credibility, which takes a ...

Building Steam
Published: Nov. 1, 2012

An old fashioned steam engine and a space shuttle have something in common. They both must build a lot of “steam” before they get moving. The same is true for tagvillage. We have been working very hard behind the scenes over the past several weeks preparing for the launch of our advertising platform. And, like an old fashioned steam engine, we have been building a lot of steam. And, like an old fashioned steam engine, you don’t notice the steam until it is finally released. So, hold on tight, we are getting ready to release some steam.

Over the ...

    Facebook Open Graph Data

    Source: Facebook Open Graph Insights

It has been just over 1 week since we integrated Facebook "Like" buttons into various places throughout our site. We have been monitoring the affect and thought our members would "like" to see some data. From October 18th until October 27th, the "Like" buttons have been clicked 1,084 times, resulting in 213 referrals. We are very impressed with this fact. This is nearly 20% response rate. In years of website development and online marketing we have never seen results this high. By most standards a 2% click rate is very ...

Let's Get This Engine Roaring!
Published: Oct. 15, 2012

As of today, tagvillage, inc. has been in existence for exactly 24 months. And what an amazing 24 months it has been! We have transformed from a fledgling enterprise filled with ideas and dreams to a focused, dedicated operation on a laser targeted mission. Through the ups and the downs, I have had the pleasure of being most intimately involved in every aspect of our life as tagvillagers. Every day I am reminded of the dedication, work, and loyalty of our members. It truly humbles me.

Over the past 24 months, we have paid out $455,186.30 in cash ...
