July was a busy month to say the least. Our company held the annual meeting of shareholders, we initiated the Founders Profit Sharing Pool, we moved full-scale into development of our advertising platform, and I flew to Ukraine. In addition, we cleared the first major financial hurdle I spoke about in the article titled “Cautiously Optimistic”. A combination of sales and investments sufficiently provided the capital needed to deploy the necessary resources to complete our platform.
Our sole commitment at this point is to complete our advertising system and begin marketing it as quickly as possible. In order to accomplish a completed product as efficiently as possible, we decided it would be prudent for me to travel to Ukraine where I can work side-by-side with our core development team. In this manner we dramatically increase communication between management and development. I plan to remain in Ukraine until August 29th so that I can see to it that our entire product is complete and live on our website as quickly as possible.
I wanted to take a few minutes to tell our members what to expect in the upcoming weeks. Not long from now everyone will begin to notice major changes on our site.
First, we will deploy our fully-functional cause platform. The completed cause platform will have several features. Causes will be able to create and manage a public profile page. They can use this page to inform members, advertisers, and publishers about their organization. They will be able to upload images, write detailed descriptions, establish links to their websites and videos, and much more. We will also implement the /cause hashtag search capability of our site. This search feature will allow members, advertisers, and publishers to find causes based on Tags.
It is important to complete the cause platform first, because causes are our core purpose. We are a tithing corporation and we are building the cause platform at the core of our financial distribution system for our advertising platform. Ten percent of every dollar earned from our advertising system will automatically be donated to the causes in our network. This will be a default, built-in feature.
Once the cause platform is deployed we will move rapidly to complete the publisher platform. This is the next crucial stage in the release of our entire product. The publisher platform will be a fully-functional system that will allow publishers to manage advertising widgets on multiple sites. It will enable them to sell ads to their own advertisers and to attract advertisers from the entire tagvillage network. In addition, the publisher platform will be the central tool by which causes are chosen for donations.
Publishers will register and create their public publisher profile. They can manage this profile page and use it to attract advertisers and to promote the various ad widgets on their websites. They will create “Sites” in their profile and may manage ads on as many “Sites” as they wish. For each “Site” they will create “Widgets” and can have as many “Widgets” for a site as they want. In this manner, publishers can create widgets that run globally on all pages of their “Site”, or they can create complex campaigns where each individual segment (or even page) of their “Site” has its own unique “Widgets”.
When a publisher builds a “Widget” they will move through a few important steps. First, they will name the widget to help them identify it and to help tagvillage promote it to advertisers. Second, they will choose the size and format of the widget. We will offer many different sizes and design formats. Next they will decide if the widget will contain text only, image only, or text + image advertisements. Then, they will choose a cause that will be supported by this widget. Every single widget will have a cause attached to it and ten percent of all money earned from ads sold for this widget will be donated to the cause selected by the publisher. There will also be an option to randomly rotate causes from our network if the publisher does not wish to focus on a particular cause. Once they have chosen their cause, they will create a list of Tags they would like to target with this widget. These Tags will be used to attract advertisers who are targeting the same Tags. When they are finished building the widget, they will be given a code to insert into the html of their website. As soon as this code is live on their site, our advertisements will begin to appear.
The publisher platform will also contain detailed reporting for each publisher. They will be able to see pageviews, unique visitors, impressions, clicks, and other important data for each widget. We will also enable the /publisher hashtag search. This search feature will allow members and advertisers to find publishers by searching for them with Tags. If an advertiser wants to target the Tag “shoes” they can search “shoes /publisher” and see a list of all publishers who have widgets that target the same Tag. By giving the Tag control over to the publishers and advertisers, we will enable publishers and advertisers to work directly with one another. If a specific advertiser wants their ads to appear on a specific publisher’s pages, they will be able to work together using Tags to make this happen.
Once the feature packed publisher platform is released, we will quickly move into the final phase of product release, the advertiser platform. This powerful platform will allow advertisers to manage multiple ad campaigns with multiple ads for each campaign. Advertisers will be able to select exactly which “Sites” and “Widgets” their ads will appear upon. We plan to give total ad distribution control over to the advertisers and publishers. Unlike most other advertising networks, tagvillage will be a place where advertisers and publishers connect and work together for the most benefit.
When an advertiser joins tagvillage they will create a public advertiser profile. We will enable the /advertiser hashtag search. This feature will allow members and publishers to search advertisers by Tags. If a publisher has a website about exercise and wants to display ads related to “running shoes” they can find the perfect advertisers for their site. The publisher can search “running shoes /advertiser” and they will see a list of all advertisers who have ad campaigns targeting the Tag. Then, they can invite advertisers to place ads into their widgets.
Once an advertiser has a public profile, they will be able to manage as many campaigns as they wish. Each campaign can have as many ads as they desire. When an advertiser creates an ad within a campaign, they will complete a few important steps. They will name the ad so they can easily identify it in their reports. They will decide if they want to create an image ad or a text ad. Next they will upload the image or enter the text. Then they will enter a list of Tags they wish to target with the ad and they will enter the URL of the page they want the advertisement to link with.
Once the advertiser has created an ad, they will then be able to distribute the ad throughout our publisher network. Advertisers will have several options for distribution. They can run the ad across multiple sites based on a computer match-making algorithm. Or, they can select the “Site” and “Widget” they would like their ad to appear upon. In this way, advertisers will have complete control over who sees their ads by allowing them to select specific websites and even specific pages. When an advertiser selects a particular widget they will then place a bid for the amount they want to pay for their ads to appear. They will be able to determine the current bids so they can offer a competitive bid for the position. Whenever an advertiser is charged for an ad they placed into our network, the funds will immediately be distributed to the Tag owner, Publisher, and the Cause being supported by the widget.
We plan to implement many more features than I have discussed in this report. As our site grows we will enhance our product continuously. Our goal is to build one of the most powerful and effective advertising systems available. We will provide robust reporting tools for both advertisers and publishers. We will build communication tools that allow advertisers and publishers to connect with each other and work together toward common goals. All the while, every aspect of our system will be designed to promote and support worthy causes throughout the world.
Before I close this article, I would like to point out one very important aspect of our upcoming platforms. Unlike any other advertising network online, tagvillage will be a powerful tool for local publishers and local advertisers. Because of the way we are designing our systems, local advertisers can connect with local publishers to place ads in front of a local audience very effectively. They can both work together to support a local cause. We believe as our product attracts more and more advertisers and publishers they will find the ability to connect and work together on a local level will be far superior to any other advertising option in the current market.
I hope as you are reading this update that you are excited and encouraged. I know I am. Over the past several months I have seen our team create an amazing, unique concept. I have seen them develop a plan for an advertising platform that will be second to none. Our unique tools, coupled with the ability for publishers and advertisers to control the Tags being targeted and the exact locations where ads are being displayed, should become a fan favorite very fast. We feel both advertisers and publishers will appreciate the approach we are taking. We truly hope they will prefer our ad distribution style over any other option that exists.
August will be an exciting month for our members. Over the next few weeks you will begin to see the cause platform, publisher platform, and advertiser platform come to life. Our goal is to complete all of this before the end of August. Everything after will be full steam ahead. Once our product is live on our site, we will immediately gather feedback from our customers and enhance, enhance, enhance. Those of you who participated in the Millionaires Club and the Founders Profit Sharing Pool should begin to reap your rewards soon after. If all goes according to plan, the rest of 2012 should be filled with growth and excitement.
